Cameras are charged and ready to roll, going by the number of e-mails and people on various forums saying they are flying in it should be a rather busy day, borrying the other halfs powershot so should have some video too (never used it before so wont be great, i'll have to get mike to give me some tips

Yes, bringing my Kodak C713 as well as the two SLRs (has video so that'll be a first for me). Should be across for 1000-1030 - look out for a metallic green Fiesta parking in front of the old hangar directly across from the clubhouse (access via the industrial estate and not the taxiway). Forecast for tomorrow seems good all up and down the West Coast and across to Northern Ireland, which bodes well for the number of potential visitors! Graeme

Well had a great day out yet again at Kirkbride, shame about the no shows especially the Yakobats, not even an e-mail or phone call (bad form chaps). Highlights had to be the JP, Kraguj, Yak-52 and the displays by the RAF Hawk and Autogyro. Lots of pics to come this week took about 1500. Most importantly raised well over £2000 for the GNAA.

Guys
It was nice to put a lot of faces to names today.I had the camera with me but didnt take any photos.I think we were just about last to leave this evening. It was a great day with numbers of visiting aircraft between 50-60 which considering the conditions was truly remarkable. Some great pilloting in some tricky conditions.
Looking forward to the pictures!
Cheers
Alan

Heard the Yakobats talking to London FIS after getting home - returning to base so must have had a display somewhere. A good but very tiring day though
I must remember to get the JP to park facing the other way next time though

I think a big round of thank-yous are due to John, Chris and everyone else who organised and helped out on the event. Good to see the Ambulance receiving a hefty wadge of cash too - I certainly donated towards their funds. I had an immensely enjoyable time as an "official aviation press" photographer (thank you, Chris! ;D) but equally relished the opportunity to meet up with everyone again - those of you from the forum that I know and some of the visiting pilots. John - I'll remember to send you an Air North magazine with the finished article about the Open Day, once it's published. Cheers, everyone - already looking forward to 2009's event! Graeme

Hi guys, thanks for all your comments and I think you all had a good day.Total cash taken was £1500 roughly as more is trickling in.I know as it took two hours to count and put in bags! A special thanks to Stephen Ferguson for his help on the radio side,he did a very proffessional job. Also to Arthur Baxter our roving "Follow Me" man, you were a godsend. To all the people I saw but did not have time to speak to,Sorry I do try but the work load is high. If anyone has any pointers for next year please feel free to e-mail me as to take it all in is not easy. One of the no shows had left a message for me,it was an extra 300 from Hawarden, they had a crosswind of 30 knots which was way above his limits.Better luck next time eh!! Stay lucky guys,John P.
