Next years event is already shapeing up nicely, so i have decided to start its own thread already. As you know they have got sponsership for a Spitfire or Hurricane and hopefully the Newcastle based Jet Provost will display with Neil McCarthy getting his DA for the JP. Simon Johnston has been approached with regard to bringing his Isaccs Fury back and new news today is that there is a Jet Provost MKV going to be based at Carlisle, this is G-BWGF ( XW325 ) the pilot has already agreed to pop over on the open day, so things are looking good already and it isn't even 2008 yet!

Deffinately a good idea about having a forum meet, maybe we could all do something else, but i will have to have a chat with Mr P first though.

Right just had a chat with John at Kirkbride about sponsering one of the days displays. Now there is a Pitts Special pilot who is prepared to come and display at Kirkbride on a cost only basis which is £100, now if several of us can split the cost we can have our very own display at Kirkbride. The display is the one in the link below. Anyone interested..... www.skyshaw.com/index.html

84 members = ~ £1.50 each and some cash left over to buy John a bottle of wine or three for organising the whole shebang. Might set a precedent, though, then we'd end up forking out for everything....

Thanks Guys, your support is greatly appreciated. As you know this is usually a one man show and yes It does take a bit of sorting out.Hopefully I will keep you informed as things progress, also just had an e-mail from the Joint Helicopter Command HQ that they are looking in to maybe sending us something for the "Fly-in" Also there is a privately owned "Bell 47" helo which I have a contact working on,this would also be very nice to see, don't you think

Hello guys,The pilot of the pitts s1 (peter Metcalfe) has just confirmed he will come to the "Fly-in" next year.So be prepared for a growling lycoming inbound to Kirkbride call sign G-BIRD and I suspect it will be a stunning entry with smoke on.!!Details will be finalised nearer the time.

I dont think all 84 members would contribute unfortunatly, but maybe if we can get half a dozen or so it would certainly make the meet a little bit more special. Also i think we are the first aviation forum that i know of to sponser a display so a bit of a first there.
