Ah, Anthony Hodgson's Spitfire - not seen all that frequently on the circuit, which is a shame as for my money it's the best solo Spitfire display around. He's displayed it at Southport on several occasions, including last year. Always manages to provide a sweeping display using all the display lines. Little clip of it performing at Southport last year here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUUdR6z7DOEIf the money could be found for it, I'm sure visitors to Kirkbride wouldn't be disappointed!

No chance of the money being found for his Spitfire way to expensive, however we are enquiring about his Harvard.

Hi Guys, no news as yet regarding the Havard but I have had word from the "YAKobats" who will be here for the "Fly-in" unless they get a paid display somewhere else.Which according to the team leader is looking very unlikely. So fingers crossed. The JP3 from Newcastle is trying to get here next Sunday weather permitting so look out for that. I have had my leg caught in an accident at work and am presently grounded so I hope to get some good use from my new scanner this next week.Luckily it was not broken as thought at first but quite a lot of soft tissue damage (lovely colours of black, blue and yellow) I did put a request in for the Havard have you done the same Chris ??

John, No i didn't say anything about the Harvard, however i recently joined the Yakobats forum and mentioned the fly-in and open day so i'd like to think i had a hand in that one. There website can be found below... www.yakobats.co.uk/Yakobats/Welcome.html

Looks like me might be getting a fly-by, by an RAF Hawk on the day as it's down to display in Dumfries & Galloway on the same day. also there might be a demo by the locally based autogyros also fingers crossed if we can get extra sponsership we might have a Harvard as well. So if your company would like to get involved with the open day, drop me or (Dakotasix) a PM!

Saw this mentioned in a log from Kirkbride on ScotAvNet today which mentioned the Open Day on 20th July: "Chris Jones is going to give trial flights in an autogyro for anyone brave enough." Any takers?

Dont think i'd be brave enough for one of those, something proper with wings deffinately. But good to see some there will be something moving on the ground. Quick update for those interested, the based yellow Skybolt should be up on the day as well. We have a group of about 8 microlight types coming from Bedlands gate nr Shap, 5 coming up from South Wales, a Bellenca Citabria from Barton so things shaping up nicely.
