There's almost as many planes displaying at Whitehaven as there is at Elvington airshow this year!
I suppose the smaller shows are the ones that will suffer most with the RAF cutting back on the usual fast jet displays this year?

I would certainly agree with that, although with Elvington hopefully getting the Vulcan that will be a BIG slice of their available budget gone.

We will be on our way back from Lincolnshire on the Saturday of the Elvington show. We intend to set off early and come back via the Humber bridge and visit Elvington to see the Vulcan. Is it doing a flying display do you know, or will it just fly in for a static display & taxi run with the Victor which is based there?

Rich - the plan is for the Vulcan to perform a flying display at Elvington (it's not a static appearance as far as I'm aware). Whether it will land or not isn't known at this stage.
All that is of course assuming the Vulcan returns to flight, completes the necessary test flights and (where flying displays are concerned) gains the necessary permissions.

Does anyone know What days each Display will take place on? Anyone got a list or events timetable because I can't really make much sense of the website. Also didn't realise that the Red Arrows were displaying tonight at 5pm thought they would have been on at the weekend.
Is there suppose to be a SAR Demo this year or not?

To answer my own question. It has just flown past our front window ( 5.35pm ), done a low pass over the harbour and disappeared up into the clouds, cant have displayed before this though surely ,because I heard nothing before this and it was quite loud as it passed. The Catalina has just passed by too as I type this heading North I hope I haven't missed the display as it has not returned Looks OK for tomorrow though !
