The first flying item has been announced and is a Hovercraft, ok not technically a plane but it flies. This past couple of weeks a couple of large boats have also announced they will be in the Harbour over the weekend, they are..... The Grand Turk, Tall Ship around 150ft long Greater Manchester Challenge 76ft ketch

Someone once told me that you had to have a pilots licence to operate a commercial hovercraft, as it is technically an aircraft. I don't know if this is true or not?

I'd like it when these tall ships come to the festival if, weather permitting , at least one of them would be able to give some sort of display in full sail, a few passes of the harbour maybe. This would give some nice photo opportunities.
Maybe because I'm not an enthusiast of ships, I think they all tend to look the same, moored up in the harbour.

Totally agree with the tall ships comment, they certainly do all look the same in the harbour, hopefully they can be persuaded to go on a couple of trips over the weekend.

It would appear that the Red Arrows will only be displaying on the Friday of this event.

It doesn't give a time for the Red Arrows on the website does it? Wonder if they'll be on in the evening, or a lot of people will miss them, being at work and school.

Saw the Catalina at Elvington a couple of years ago, but it will be really in it's element at a coastal maritime festival. Hope I get some decent photos.
Does anyone know what time the Red Arrows are on, Friday, or has it not been announced yet?
