My favourite time of the year . it also makes for some great pictures does anyone have any tips for getting great shots? Somthing i did learn from the maritime is the need for either a monopod or tripod.

Hi Chris Absolute doddle. Manual mode on the camera. F8 or F11 Shutter speed of 3 to 10 seconds. Mirror lock up and a remote release or self timer. Tripod. Taking the fireworks is an absolute doddle.Finding a location that creates a good shot is something totally different.Somewhere like Whitehaven harbour is superb.A few colourful lights and water to give some nice reflections.Pictures of fireworks on their own look pretty boring.Old buildings like castles, churches etc make for excellent foreground interest Cheers Gary
