The sunset tonight was great, only it didn't last too long. Which is a shame because i didn't have time to change locations when it had all but dissappeared. Anyway here's my best effort which could be better. I should have put the tree to the left. I think if i could have made it to the shore i might have got some good ones... I walked a bit to these old mine towers, (or whatever they are) but the red had all but gone in the sky... comments welcom, good or bad Cheers Karl

Hi Karl
It was pretty good wasn't it.I was standing on top of the big tanks at work admiring it(even better when the Typhoon came screaming over).
Firstly, you need to check how you are uploading to the net.The jpeg compression on these is awful and it's destroyed all the detail.Never go below jpeg level 6-just save a different version for the web.Make the longest side 800px wide and save at jpeg level 7 at approx 96dpi.You shouldn't notice a drop in screen quality and the file size should be small enough for Photobuket not to wreck the picture.Make sure you "save as" though or you will lose your proper version.
I agree with the first picture.Just crop out the left hand side and I would also clone out the lights and rugby posts.
What 10 yards ;D.You could have taken that from your front door.
I like the second picture the best.Once again I would clone out the lights and with the edges being so defined you could plop a nice sunset sky behind to make a more dramatic picture. With a bit of luck you might have actually taken some pictures of just the sky yesterday.I also like the convergance in the picture.
Next time shoot at iso 100 instead of 400 though.
Why couldn't we have had weather like that on Tuesday???WE definitely picked the worst day of the week to go out.
Upload these again at better jpeg settings and they will look a whole lot better straight away.
Cheers Gary

Very frustrating trying to operate my software. I can't work out how to clone, but i have croped the first photo and i think it's saved jpeg level 7... Unfortunatley I didn't get any of just the sky either, doh! Another field trip is required i think Gary.

Hi Karl
That's a lot better.Still looks a bit noisey in the sky but nothing Noiseware or Neat Image couldn't sort out. I'm amazed you can do anything when only using Photoshop 2.It was actually released in 1991.
