Hi Chris Nice to know that my pictures are making people want to go out and try a few different things for themselves.Half the fun of photography for me is just to get out and try different things. Well done for getting out and having a go.My favourite is the top one.Unfortunatly the others are all slightly blurred. When shooting long exposure pictures over about 1 second you must use the mirror lock up function on your camera or the mirror slap can cause blurriness in the pictures. If you were using it then try hanging your camera bag over the tripod to steady it and make it a bit more rigid.I'm assuming you used a remote release or the self timer-if you didn't shame on you. You'll also find that this kind of shot works better when there's still a bit of colour left in the sky. I think your camera has also got the white balance slightly wrong. That's easily sorted in Photoshop though. Open up "levels" and click on the black eyedropper. Now find something in the picture that should be black and click on it.This should snap the white balance to the correct settings. If you do this and it still looks wrong just try clicking somewhere else. This also works with the white and grey eyedroppers. It's a great way of getting rid of colour casts. This also works a treat on aviation pictures. Adjusted the white balance by clicking on the tyre of the car. Cheers Gary

Inspired by the work here I went down the docks tonight and like the Christmas Carol “ I saw Three Ship’s come Sailing in”

Gary/Chris, Hi yeah these are the Sultans ships if your interested and you have the money they could be yours. But there is no heating onboard they were kitted out for the tropics and so no heating system was fitted. Chris they are in the BNFL area of the docks but can be seen from all around, you could drive up to the security guys they may let you have a look from the dock side
