Oy up some puffins... the most photogenic bird in the World, snapped these in the summer at Bempton Cliffs east Yorkshire they were not very close so are pretty heavy crops mostly but got a few reasonable ones and this little fella has a mouthful of eel's (massive crop) cheers Chris

Hi Chris
Number 2 is my favourite.I'm not sure if you've already cropped the pic but it works much better with the large rock cropped from the bottom and about 1/3 off the left hand side. Gotta have a go at them myself one day.Beautiful bird. Cheers Gary

Gary Holy Island is the only place in town for getting serious Puffin shots... they have over 200 thousand of the beggars in breeding season whereas Bempton has 2000 spread out over about 3 miles of cliffs, and good pics are very hard come by on the other hand on Holy Island they are practically standing on them by all accounts
I really Love Puffins - by far and away the mosy photogenic bird IMHO cheers Chris

Hi Chris
I ain't been to Holy Island since I was about 13 so it might be worth a day or two next year.Maybe try and combine it with some landscape stuff.I've never heard about the Puffins there before. That one must have slipped under the radar. We do get them at St Bees on this coast but not sure on exact amounts or locations.Should probably try that first seing as it's only a 10 mile drive away.
Cheers Gary

Holy Island is a photographers paradise In my opinion... it has a charm about it unlike very few places in the UK I have ever come across from driving across the road over the sea, to the fishing boats in the harbour I love everything about the place
definatly will be visiting again - hopefully the bloody weather will be kinda next time
