Hi guys
Thanks for the comments. Tim-thats one of the reasons I was up there.I was on a bit of a recce to check out the lay of the land.I hadn't been up there for quite a few years. It looks like a promissing location but i'm not sure iff anything actually uses that valley.I know things use the Crummock/Buttermere valley but I've got a feeling most things head into Honistor. If anything did use Newlands there would be some excellent shots to be had.It would probably be even better than that little location I dragged you up the other month.I didn't see anything while I was up there but there was a 2 mile avoidance for Keswick all week so that part of the lakes was very quiet anyway.
Chris-It's not actually snow. They were taken on an infrared camera.I sent my 20D to the USA last year and had it butchered at a cost of £320.Money well spent in my mind but the camera can't be used now for anything but infrared pictures. It leaves me feeling a bit short now for airshows etc(being used to using a 2 body/2 lens setup) but I'll hopefully be hitting the old credit card again when the 30D replacement comes out.Thats unless I just buy another 30D or possibly get the 400D.The 1D Mk 3 looks very nice but that screams the word "divorce".
Mike-I'm addicted to photography of any type.Nothing more to say really. It takes up all of my spare time and every penny that I have to spend(and quite a bit that haven't!!!!)
Cheers Gary

Cheers, for the comments Gary, i think Buttermere and Crummock do get a fair bit of trade, as every time i am up there i usually see Hawks, Harriers, and Jaguars!! also i have been lucky enough to witness F15 Eagles strutting there stuff through there! it would be nice to see a few Tornado's though. Have you checked out Ennerdale recently, apparantley the other week it was quite active with tonkas.

Hello mate
I never think of heading down to Ennerdale.I suppose I go where the chances are greatest.I quite like the look of Anglers Crag(i think thats the name) down at Ennerdale though.
Cheers Gary

Hi Gary, i suppose you're right, Ennerdale is only used on the odd occasion, i suppose, however it get's a lot more trade than what we think!.

Hi Tim
Due to the fact that most people head to the same valley the majority of the lakes is still a bit unknown traffic wise.Other areas obviously get used but without putting the time in,who knows. Then again,I had approx 15 blanks up at Thirlmere last year. That could have been the only 15 times that someone went out and they would think that Thirlmere was a waste of time!!! I've only been averaging about 1 trip out a month for the last 4 or 5 months so you have got to go where you think your best chances are. What would be handy is if you knew someone who lived at Ennerdale,Wasdale etc and asked them to log any traffic for you over a decent lenght of time.
Cheers Gary

Hi Gary, i am starting to get out again for my country walks around Ennerdale and Wasdale with the summer looming up, i will keep count, and hopefully we might try our luck sometime. However i feel you might see the odd movement, but nothing as regular as the 1 way system through Dunmail Ect..But like anything else the pilots like a change of scenery once every while.
