Must be plenty of them Mike. Funnily enough, last time i was at Leeming I got talking to an old couple who were staying at a campsite down the road.Turns out they were from Maryport.Small world.

Gary, We had a caravan until a couple of years ago, and you mentioned Linton on Ouse, there is a caravan / camp site in the village of Alne we used to stay on called the Alders. The Tuccanos and any visiting aircraft used to come in low over the site as it is under the Western Approach. I remember a night exercise once involving Hercules aircraft when we stayed there They have a website.... www.alderscaravanpark.co.uk/ Are you in a caravan or a tent? It doesn't say tents aren't accommodated in their website as far as I saw but if you are taking one you could check. There's also Allerton Park just off the A1 & not far from Linton www.yorkshireholidayparks.co.uk/NEWAllerton%20HomePage.htmIt is only about 15 minutes drive South of Leeming too.

Gary I had a few in my favs at one time... but unfortunatly when I installed windows Vista I managed to corrupt all my hard drives (5 of em) and lost the bloody lot Grrrr any way for Mild there are a few good guides knocking about fightercontrol.co.uk/spottingguide/spottingguides.htmLinton on Ouse is hopeless in my opinion... I have stood there for hours on end and seen very little action occasionally they have a slight rush but nowhere near the amount of stuff that Leeming gets at Linton there is a small viweing area with room for about 10 cars and I park the car there and walk back along the road and there are a few options to get along side the runway (at a distance) the village of Alne is Ok but pretty much bottom side/high shots nothing to get excited about Chris must add that today as I went past Dishforth there was about 10 choppers out front and apparently some of them were Dutch as I was in the middle lane of the A1M southbound I could not really ID them LOwfly.net used to have base guides as well but have not checked recently Chris
