Just found another airfield in Cumbria, never heard of it before but i was looking through the yellow pages of all things and saw Glassonby Airfield (NW of Penrith), following a Google i found out... From PPrune forums......
Glassonby I just discovered this recently myself. Its 7.5 miles by road north-east of Penrith and PPR on 01768 898387. I walked the firm grass runway 18/36 at about 600 paces or about 500m absolute maximum, but the airfield operator quotes 450m for this. There is a shorter 350m 05/23 also. The airfield is in the middle of nowhere again, but a Penrith taxi to Ullswater would be cheaper than one all the way from Carlisle. It is close to the ancient stone circles of Long Meg, Little Meg and Glassonby if you're interested in this type of history. The field is on a slightly curved 183m (600ft) high hilltop but the ground drops away to give good approaches.

I've been past the field a couple of times but have never seen anything outside. It's situated just outside of the village, at a crossroads about a mile or less south of Glassonby - the road running west from the crossroads then passes "Long Meg and her Daughters". There were two mown grass runways in evidence the last time I passed by in 2004 and there was a small shed-cum-hangar.

From googling it appears they have had an occaisional fly-in, might be worth giving them a ring and having a chat. Dont suppose there are anymore airfields in Cumbria that are well hidden i should know about?

Just found another microlight strip, this time a spot called Bedlands Airfield on the way towards Shap.

Glassonby Airfield's pretty quiet but on a nice day there is quite a lot of Microlights and Gyros operate out of there. The Airfield share a radio Freqs with the General Micro one which is 129.825.
So as shown in scanning Directory's 129.825 is the Common Microlight/Glassonby Radio.
