Hi guys Went out with the intention of spending the morning taking landscape pictures but couldn't get my eye in so ended up at Thirlmere to see what was knocking about. Plonked my butt above the Station Coppice car park. Not the best location in the world but I like the angles from there and at 10 in the morning it was ideal. Not a lot happening.I had a Herc south to north at about 2000 ft and then possibly the same machine travelling in the opposite direction at about the same height later on.Wonder if this was the machine that went to Carlisle? Also had another Herc at dinnertime "ish" that came along the hill tops and then dived into low level around the Watendlath area for a run down Borrowdale I assume .Also had an Hawk north to south along the back of Hellvellyn. The only movement for me was a 25 Sqn F3(all black tail). The lighting was terrible with mist, really bright sunlight and shooting into shadow. Not a good combination.I duly obliged in cocking up the exposure and blowing out the wings.Never mind. A couple of crappy pics. Cheers Gary

You may call them crappy but i'd be happy to get shots like that, caught the Tornado at a really good angle.

Chris is right about the angle, you wouldn't do better on Corris (wash my mouth out)
