Hi guys Another enjoyable 2 day trip culminated with the VAS photocall down at RAF Valley.I'm glad we decided to spend the night before the photocall in Bangor because I wouldn't want to have had to travel down on the actual day. It's a 235 mile trip and you would be looking at a 4am start to get there in time. It's definitely a 4 1/2 drive from Workington. We were very lucky with the weather.Every forecast leading up to and on the the day of the photocall indicated a soaking for everyone involved.Luckily the rain stayed away until 4pm. I really enjoyed the show even though it was very sparse as regard to aircraft with lots not showing on the day.Luckily there were plenty of locals up and about to help keep things active. The static line up included- Bulldog,Tucano(special),Hawk(100 sqn special),Irish PC9,3 x GR4,King Air,Typhoon,Irish AW139 and a AAC Squirrel. Flying circuits- C17,VC10,25 SQN F3,Hercules,41 SQN GR4 and a late Transall that virtually everyone missed. Apart from the locals I think thats everything. A few pics. Gary

A real shame the USAF contingent never made it. Still where else can you get a C-17 and a VC-10 other than brize. Nice stuff btw.

Glad you had a good day Gary and that the weather played ball for you... what I like about this photocall is how close they let you get to the hardware some cracking pics by the way, although the Herc needs a straightening of the horizon a bit cheers Chris

Cheers Chris
Certainly can't complain about getting up close and personal with the aircraft.Standing 20 yards away from 2 GR4's going through their pre flight checks certainly had the ears ringing a bit after they left.Awesome sound but probably not too clever on the old ears. Believe it or not I actually intended to have the slight tilt on the Herc. When I processed it I quite liked the angle-the day after, not too sure.
Catch you soon Gary

Hi Gary, finally got around to looking at these. Liked the shots of the aircrew - something out of the ordinary. Graeme
