Taking place on Sunday May 16th will see Carlisle Airport host an Air Defence Day. This has attracted a display by the RAF Solo Hawk and will be the only chance to see the dramatically painted 2010 solo display aircraft in Cumbria this year.

This has had to be cancelled due to lack of participation by RAF aircraft - seemingly aircraft are now only allowed at major displays by order of the AOC Training.

Bugger, it does strike me that some venue's can have Red Arrows for 3-4 days on a row where as other parts of the country seem to have a distinct lack of support, you just have to look at how the Windermere show gets less and less from the RAF each year. :-( and another thing i've noticed this year is how the solo displays are just doing one event per sat / sun unless it's a major show :-(

Apparently the Red Arrows have had their "disply hours" drastically reduced, they with only now do fly-bys within 10 miles of track rather than the previous 70 miles
