Guys, Just a few words of thanks from myself to those unsung hero's who put time and energy into our "Open day and Fly-in" at Kirkbride. First "Westie" and his crew of marshals an excellent job with crowd control etc.even though the weather did it's best to spoil things. Also to my right hand man Malcom Bell (Tools) his energy exhausts me just watching him. Whilst we did not have a very big turnout we certainly had a good day including the "Reds" with a great fly-by against the rare blue sky.Simon Johnston with his "Kraguj" and my pal Andy Wilson with the Yak 50 who had to call it a day with a crosswind beyond his limits(30 plus at one stage) and even the "Pride of Cumbria" managed to get here and gave a small display. All the booked "Acts" never made it due weather,BBMF cancelled early morning,Sea King likewise with the Pitts Special (G-BYIP) with Dai Heather-Hayes being stuck at Perth in very heavy rain.Neil Mccarthy(JP G-BVEZ) was held up at Newcastle and could not make his display slot in time before our Article 80 ran out.ie licence to run a public display.Yes we are doing things by the book now. The JP5 G-BWGF did land for a short while and then gave us a couple of run throughs (feel the thunder) So all in all a good day highlighted in my opinion by the Vulcan on Saturday. If I have forgotten anyone I am sorry and if you have a good pic of the REDS or Vulcan I would love a copy for the club house wall,Take care boys Dakotasix (John)

Just goes to show that poor weather and general aviation don't mix!!!
Despite that had a great weekend (but should have stuck to my comment after the Vulcan visit of not returning on Sunday - NOT)
As far as I know the marshals are up for it for next year and I've even got a volunteer to help from Cornwall!!

Busy afternoon around the Egremont / Cleator Moor area today. 2x Tornadoes Nr Egremont at 1.30 low level, and about 45 mins later a 4 ship of Harriers around and over Dent fell exiting low level south. And reports of another fast mover a little later on.
