Arrived at Wiley Sike at 10.00am Oh Dear only Spotters no service personell, however between 10.30am & 11.00am the FACs arrive and show commences.
11.07am 4F15Es Eagles from LN callsign Bolar cavorting around the Spadeadam Skies as only Eagles can do. flew low level over Wiley Sike amazing vortices as they criss crossed the sky. Boler Lead stated they were doing a recce and would be back at 4.0pm.
11.50am Typhoon 62 3 Sq QO.W doing high level and medium level FAC over northern part of the range eventually came down to low level and almost surpassed the Eagles with tight Typhoon turns, on the range until 12.26pm
12.27am Javelin 93 JFATSU Hawk Sincs in cockpit enough said giving the FACS the benefit of his fantastic knowledge on station for 30 minutes
13.10pm Cobra 1 & 2 Marham GR4s dropping practice bombs on the village and the tank convoy. all landed near to targets.I prefer GR4s to Typhoons especially on the range again nice tight turns with lots of extremely low level flying. off station 13.40pm
15.00pm Hawk returns for more FAC work.
15.55pm 2 F15E Eagles callsign sounded like Madeye 1 & 2 female voice accepting FAC instructions probably the Wizzo but dont know. the eagles were above the cloud for most of the sortie and had to descend through the cloud to ID target didnt come very low about 3/4 thousand feet. Certainly not as good as Bolar in the morning. Left for tea.
