As you may be aware, the Royal Air Force XXV(F) Squadron will formally disband on 4 April 2008. As such the Squadron will be holding several events to mark the end of its illustrious history.
One such event open to the public will be an Air Enthusiasts Day hosted by RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire – the home of both the 25(F) Sqn Tornado F3’s and the BAE Hawks of 100 Sqn. This day will be strictly limited to 1000 people and will cost £30 per person, a large proportion of the money raised will be donated to station charities and the rest will be used to fund the disbandment events. You will be welcomed onto the airfield as guests; it is an exclusive opportunity to see past and present aircraft operated by the Squadron, alongside visiting aircraft from all over Europe and the USA, who have gathered for the event. There may even be a couple of surprises in the pipeline…
It’s a rare opportunity and not to be missed - as there are limited tickets available you will benefit from the lack of crowds usually associated with air shows and be able to get closer to the jets. We are also planning some unique, talks, briefs and experiences based around the QRA tasking for the Tornado F3 along with the opportunity to chat with Air and Ground crew about working on a fast jet station. Sqn memorabilia and signed prints will also be made available to purchase on the day.
The date planned is Saturday 29 March 2008 – 0900-1500
Further details and ticket booking will be available shortly via 25squadron.co.uk which is currently under construction.
