hi i was wondering if anyone out there would be kind enough to let me borrow a usb cable so i can programme my icom radio. Or does anyone know where sells them locally.

The interface/cable is easily available via ebay far cheaper than the icom branded one. If there is no-one local to you with one then you could borrow one of mine - let me know via PM as i'd have to post it up to you.

If it's just a normal usb/usb or usb/mini usb you can pick them up for less than £5 at any decent computer shop.In Carlisle try PC World,Game,Comet,Currys etc.

it's not just a USB cable - it contains a circuit to change the line levels. Also it uses a jack plug termination for the scanner end.

morning Guys,Just a further request to my hope of getting a fresh airband radio.Will anyone help me with a new list fo freqs as all I am getting at the moment is local i.e. Kirkbride,Carlisle and the odd low level Scottish.My radio at the minute is a Signal 535 connected to a discone aerial on the roof.I have just resurrected it as she who must be obeyed had a new kitchen fitted so it was off line for quite a while. Hope someone can help,Thanks.

Amazing - you have possibly the best hobby airband receiver ever made and you want a 'cheap' one? Mr. Hayakawa designed some of the best airband and shortwave radios!
Spend some time using the radio in 'seek' mode (newer radios would call it 'search') to find other active frequencies.

This is what I call a professional airband receiver and still going for good money on ebay. Some are none to get a buzzing from inside the case, but for the age of this set I could put up with it...
