Hi guys I know a few on this forum have shown an interest in a trip to Breighton which is about 15 minutes from York on the 18 sept the annual Heli day is taking place and this year a 78 squadron Merlin is coming and the event usually attracts about a dozen choppers with a few 'rare types' usually showing up adding to that the 'home' team at Breighton usually get out there selection of Bi Planes and have a few runs out with each aircraft along with a formation flypast of all the Heli's that turn up

Chris it was fantastic wall to wall blue skys and they got about 15 choppers which is a record as far as I know and some real rare types R66 which is the latest upgrade to the Robinson R22 and R44 and apparently only three currently in the whole of Europe its so new so it was quite a 'coup' for' Breighton 1 bell 47 2 alouettes (Tiger scheme) 1 Gazelle (royal Marines Livery) 1 RAF Merlin (ZJ119) 3 Bell Rangers about 5 R22's 1 Squirell (Irish Electric board Livery) 1 Girocopter plus a few of the home based went up the Yak 52 (G-TYAK) put on the best display I have ever seen it do anywhere ever,,, and pleased to say got my favourite Yak picture ever dived in full throttle down the runway 20ft off the floor with smoke machine on and I got a faceful of it I am very pleased to say all in all a fantastic day down at my favorite 'haunt' Chris
