Someone's just informed me that the next event has been canceled due to planned re-generation of the harbour. Is this true?

Unfortunatley guys i think we have seen the last event on a major scale, i think the festival as died, and i don't think it will be back, a massive shame as it was the only decent thing to have happend in this neck of the woods for a long long time!

Looks like they will be having a look at options in the New Year, pesonally i think they need an event which will attract people to the area, wont take up much room in the Harbour area but is visable from many vantage points........... airshow anyone?

It seemed to become more of an airshow as it went on ,Chris, I'd say there were as many planes displaying at Whitehaven this time as there were at Elvington.
The planes seemed to be the main talking point of the event among folk I spoke to and they need something to keep the town on the map

I agree with lack of space on the Harbour it is the obvious choice for an event for the town, lets hope the organisers feel this way too, as around the town there are so many vantage points.
