This years festival takes place during 8th-9th August, there will deffinately be some air displays this year all being well. I have been asked by Gerard Richardson to 'help' and there are some very exciting plans if everything goes ok. I'm not at liberty to say any more as i hope you will understand but when i can reveal all i will.

That's grand !
I was wondering where I might go to see it this year without traveling too far after Fairford was canceled last summer.

I've been allowed to go public at last, flying displays this year are Vulcan (9th only), Viper Jet Team, Hawker Hunter XE601, Jet Provost (Neil McCarthy) and The Blades! Had to sit on that for ages, thank god i can now let the cat out of the bag as they say.

I was talking to the guy who is co-ordinating the flying element this morning. The Vulcan is doing an 8 minute display There are a few coach loads of Vulcan enthusiasts arriving so photo spots will be busy!

Does anyone know what the times are for the air displays on the Sunday. As I think I might plan a trip across the Pennines to watch the displays. With my father working night shift on the evening, I'm just trying to work a plan of action. As it will be about a 2-3 hour drive each way.
Any help would be great.
Thanks In Advance.

Can't go into 'specifics' but the flying starts on Sunday at 12.30 and the last item is at 15.45. Hope this is of some use, i've been asked not to post times as it may affect programme sales on the day.

Possible flight cancellation 04 August 2009 - VTTS
We currently have an unresolved issue concerning the Port Main Undercarriage and its approval for further flights. As the result, we need to announce that it may prove necessary to cancel the flights planned for this coming weekend, specifically the display at Whitehaven on Sunday 9th August. We will provide a further update by close of business on Friday 7th.
