Please note that the aerobatic events at Breighton are closed to the public. Additionally, weekend access to the airfield has also ceased except for the fly-in dates which are:
Sunday 4th May - PIPER FLY-IN & 'AT HOME DAY'
Sunday 8th June - AUSTER FLY-IN & 'AT HOME DAY'
Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th July - AERONAUTICAL PAGEANT
Sunday 7th September - RV, HELICOPTER AND 'AT HOME DAY'
Although yet to be confirmed we expect that the Aeronautical Pageant will follow previous July events in being a classic fly-in with supporting cast of military vehicles and large scale RC models.
Closure to the public only refers to visiors by road, not by air. Club members will continue to enjoy all year round access. The closures are due in part to public safety concerns and one or two minor incidents of alledged 'tampering' with aircraft. It is largely a preventative measure rather than a knee-jerk reaction to any specific incident.
RAC continue to search and assess new aircraft with a view to adding them to the collection and work is continuing with the Sopwith Pups. The T-6 has flown a number of times this year already and is in tip-top health.
Cheers, Dav'

Regrettably Breighton's 2008 events are now private events with no public access. Full story on the RACo website.

Thats a great shame about the visitor issue. Its a place Ive yet to fly too.I hope its not a result of the tragic events at Shoreham last year.

You can still fly to Breighton on an event day, in fact any day come to that, and members of the general public can become members of the Real Aeroplane Club - membership which allows the membership holder to 'sign-in' family and friends (ie. it might actually work out good value for money if you can cram enough bods in your car - but I didn't say that!).
