Chris is trying to get visitors to the site, not scare them away As Gary's frontpage will testify putting a piccy of yourself on the front may or may not be a good idea. ;D

Didn't see what the site was like before.
Some of the text over pictures is difficult to read / generally messy:
'Local events' white text over the pale blue background around the nook for example 'Spadeadam' white text over the hawk looks overcrowded and totally ruins the photo.
Other than that the site layout is nice and simple, easy to navigate and local content.
What else would I like to see: More information about why the site exists, what your interests are, a spotting/photography guide to the region - anything local rather than it turn into a general photography site / log of trips

Thanks for the feedback, i'd rather have honest criticism than the backslapping most sites tend to have (though it is nice every so often). I'm only just learning how to do some stuff so as i gain the 'knowledge' it will hopefully become a lot more professional in its look. There will always be a trips page but there will hopefully also be more local content and a local radio frequency guide. If there is anything you can think of that you would like to see just let me know.

Nice, too see that things on the web site are a lot varied, but sticking with a dedicated low fly section is essential, as we live in an area ( Cumbria), that see's more military movements than other parts of the UK low fly system. I will try to get my finger out regards to offering more information, and photo's ETC, whenever possible.

Photobucket and paint have been called all the names under the sun. What have i got to show for all my hard work? Well the WMF has a new preview, the Spadeadam trip has a new look as does the new article from RAF leeming the other week, hopefully you will like it. As for me i am off to bed! ;D ;D

Hi Chris
The page looks very blocky and jpeggy to me.It looks like it's just a large picture file thats been overly compressed rather than an html page.Could just be my monitor though.

Gary It is all done on MS paint and saved as JPEG and hosted through imageshack as the Orange sitebuilder doesn't seem to like HTML code, anyway i hope its not too bad it does seem readable though. I've put on a bit more info today and changed a couple more pages. Any ideas for a way around the naff page quality would be appriciated.

Hi Chris
Have you tried designing the pages in something like Microsoft front page.I think you can even save pages from word and publisher for web use.
To keep using jpeg you could try splitting each section into lots of smaller parts. You could then increase the quality on each part-the only problem would be longer loading times.I would also consider using a simpler font and using it in a bold format.
Cheers Gary
